Vote for February's Player of the Month

Friday 01 March 2024 11:00

Three candidates are in the running for Manchester United's latest Player of the Month award.

February was, overall, an extremely positive period for the Reds, with five wins out of six in all competitions, as Erik ten Hag's men push for a European spot and continue to make progress in the Emirates FA Cup.

The shortlist for the award contains Diogo Dalot, Rasmus Hojlund and Kobbie Mainoo, who were some way clear in our voting, even if Andre Onana and Alejandro Garnacho also received nominations.

Now it's the chance to make your voice heard by taking part in our poll, after reading our summary of the trio's output across the month...

Who was United's Player of the Month for February?

DIOGO DALOT - 6 apps | 1 assist

A largely consistent month for the Portugal international, who has nailed down the right-back slot and grown in influence this term. Certainly, his display in the 3-0 win over West Ham United was first class, as one tremendous block from Jarrod Bowen illustrated his commitment and prevented what looked a certain goal.

It was his first-time cross at Aston Villa that allowed Scott McTominay to head the winner and, even in the defeat to Fulham, the defender was unlucky not to score with a shot that thudded off a post.

This is the second time he has been nominated for the monthly award in 2023/24, after coming third in September.

RASMUS HOJLUND - 4 apps | 5 gls | 1 assist | 1 MOTM

The Denmark international had been in deadly form in front of goal before injury deprived him of the opportunity to keep his hot streak going. Despite missing the games against Fulham and Nottingham Forest, the summer signing hit the net five times, including a double in the 2-1 victory at Luton Town.

The Scandinavian striker bundled home in the thriller at Wolves and also laid the ball back for Marcus Rashford to open the scoring at Molineux. He drew first blood in the big game at Aston Villa, the team he netted his first Premier League goal against on Boxing Day, and the emphatic finish against West Ham showed just what is in his locker.

The exceptional displays have also seen Hojlund nominated for the overall Premier League Player of the Month award.

KOBBIE MAINOO - 5 (1) apps | 1 gl | 1 MOTM

February started in unbelievable fashion for the Academy youngster, who took matters into his own hands to curl a sensational injury-time winner at Wolves, soon after we'd been pegged back to 3-3. The strike, and assured performance, earned the midfielder the Man of the Match accolade, and helped his cause to become a regular in the engine room.

Showing composure and maturity beyond his years, he was influential in the win over West Ham, but is being treated carefully as he was taken out of the XI in the Emirates FA Cup tie at The City Ground, before coming off the bench late on.

This is a third successive nomination for our Player of the Month trophy, which he won for the first time in January.

Does he retain the award? Have your say and we'll announce the winner on Saturday at 14:00 GMT.
