Vote for the final Player of the Month of 2022/23

Tuesday 06 June 2023 15:00

It's time to help crown the final Manchester United Player of the Month winner of 2022/23.

With United's 2-1 Emirates FA Cup final defeat to Manchester City taking place on 3 June, the award encompasses the final two months of the campaign.

Despite heartbreak at Wembley, the Reds' Premier League season ended successfully when, after defeats to Brighton and West Ham, we went on a four-game winning streak to secure third place and a position in next season's Champions League.

Those victories, over Wolves (2-0), Bournemouth (1-0), Chelsea (4-1) and Fulham (2-1) included great performances from several players, but Casemiro, Bruno Fernandes and Aaron Wan-Bissaka are the three up for nomination this time around.

Casemiro and Fernandes started all seven games during the period in question, with Wan-Bissaka only dropping out of the team on the final day of the league campaign, when Ten Hag opted to rotate his defence and start Diogo Dalot at right-back.

Fernandes was the creative fulcrum in the successes over Wolves and Fulham, winning Man of the Match after both games.

The Portugal midfielder assisted Alejandro Garnacho's clincher in the former match and netted the winner against the Cottagers. He added further goals, both from the penalty spot, against Chelsea and City.

Casemiro scored twice during May and June, as his spectacular acrobatic effort was enough to secure a vital three points at Bournemouth.

The Brazilian then showed his ability in the air five days later, when nodding us into the lead against Chelsea. Our no.18 was deservedly voted Man of the Match after both outings.

Wan-Bissaka's showings went more under the radar, as our no.29 continues his 2023 renaissance and earns his first nomination for this prize since August 2019 - his first full month at the club.

The right-back helped the Reds to two clean sheets and was arguably our best performer in the cup final, with his header directly leading to Jack Grealish committing handball and giving a penalty away.
