Women’s Player of the Month poll opens

Tuesday 31 March 2026 13:00

The poll to name Manchester United Women’s Player of the Month for March, with the support of club partner Estee Lauder, is now open.

You can cast your vote for either Maya Le Tissier, Melvine Malard or Julia Zigiotti, who are the three nominees, as a result of their efforts across our five matches in March.

It was a challenging month in terms of results, with just one win, but the run of fixtures included appearances in the UEFA Women’s Champions League quarter-finals and Subway Women’s League Cup final for the first time, and that, in itself, is a huge positive.

Below is the all-important poll you need to vote in, along with a round-up of March's main moments for our three contenders…

MAYA LE TISSIER
Appearances: 5 / Goals: 1 / Assists: 1 / Player of the Match: 1

The captain was ever-present for United in March, ensuring she maintained her run of not missing a single minute of our season so far. You would have to go back to a 3-0 win over Spurs in May 2023 for the last time Le Tissier didn't complete a full match for the Reds.

Maya led us out in our first League Cup final and produced a big last-ditch tackle in that clash with Chelsea, to deny Alyssa Thompson adding to the Blues' lead just before half-time.

The centre-back was voted our Player of the Match as we kept West Ham off the scoreboard three days later, before showing her quality at the other end of the pitch against Bayern at Old Trafford. Le Tissier scored our first equaliser in the 3-2 loss, from the penalty spot, before her corner was headed home by Hanna Lundkvist, for our second leveller, before the Munich outfit won it late on.

MELVINE MALARD
Appearances: 4 (1) / Goals: 1 / Player of the Match: 1

March saw the French forward score United's latest-ever winning goal in the Barclays Women's Super League, when her 94th-minute effort saw us get the better of Everton in Leigh.

Melvine was subsequently voted our Player of the Match that day, and was unlucky not to get another game-clinching strike in the month, after seeing a goalbound attempt cleared off the line as United searched for a go-ahead moment, late on in the goalless draw at West Ham.

Malard came on as a substitute that night but started our other four matches in the month, and has now moved into United Women's all-time top 10 for appearances, with her 91 outings taking her up to ninth place on the list.

JULIA ZIGIOTTI
Appearances: 4 / Goals: 0 / Assists: 0

The Swedish midfielder is a nominee for this award for the third month in a row, highlighting her consistent start to 2026.

That's despite her being suspended for our last outing of March, with Julia's presence in the middle of the park missed during Saturday's 3-0 defeat at home to Manchester City.

A commendable stop from Kinga Szemik denied Zigiotti her sixth goal of 2026 in the stalemate at West Ham, while she reunited with her former club Bayern at Old Trafford. Available again for Wednesday's second leg, our no.18 will hope to help United turn the last-eight tie around at Allianz Arena.
