Where does Amad's super strike rank?

Manchester United needed a touch of magic when trailing 2-1 at Nottingham Forest - and Amad provided it.

The Reds were good value for our first-half lead, courtesy of a header by Casemiro from Bruno Fernandes's corner.

However, the hosts turned things around with a quickfire double inside two minutes, after the interval, through captain Morgan Gibbs-White and Nicolo Savona.

It got The City Ground faithful's tails up and, suddenly, they sensed an end to a miserable home run in the Premier League, and a brighter future under Sean Dyche.

Another corner was only partially cleared and, from outside of the box, Amad illustrated his exceptional technique by flashing a volley past Matz Sels to level the scores at 2-2.

There was stunned disbelief around me in the press box but a roar of approval from the away end to my right. I fear I emitted a little squeal but, thankfully, the home supporters right in front of my seat did not appear to hold it against me.

As is usually the case, we had to wait for a VAR review to verify the goal, and the worry that Matthijs de Ligt may have been offside when the unstoppable howitzer blazed past him but, thankfully, a strike of such beauty and quality was not chalked off.

So, the burning question has to be where does it rank among Amad's goals for the Reds?

Well, it's his 15th for the first team, which is pretty impressive, especially considering the fact he has been predominantly playing as a wing-back under Ruben Amorim.

In that area, he showed his defensive improvement with one excellent piece of covering work in the first half, but the focus has to, rightly, be on that terrific equaliser.

It will not go down as his biggest goal, that's for sure.

The incredible stoppage-time winner against Liverpool in the 4-3 thriller at Old Trafford en route to lifting the Emirates FA Cup in 2024 will be replayed for as long as Manchester United play football.

The touch and finish from an acute angle at Manchester City, that took the points in last season's derby, was another huge contribution from the Ivory Coast international.

The last of his three efforts against Southampton was a belter, as he hauled us back from the brink of defeat, by combining with Christian Eriksen to seal a wonderful hat-trick.

A hammer blow past Newcastle United, when their fans were jeering him for his Sunderland past, is a worthy contender and the improvised header against Milan that announced his arrival as a Red in style will be special to him.

But, for my money, nothing can beat the strike today. I was blessed to witness it in the flesh and it was a bolt from the blue that illuminated an already entertaining encounter.

Yes, it was not as crucial, clearly, as the Liverpool and City ones mentioned, but I believe this was still a big equaliser in terms of keeping the momentum going, and avoiding lots of questions about another defeat on the road.

That's my take. Have your say using our poll.
