Why Dorgu was at the MOBOs
It’s been a busy international break for Patrick Chinazaekpere Dorgu, who will be cheering on Denmark when they face Czech Republic in their winner-takes-all World Cup play-off tonight.
Dorgu has been working hard on his rehabilitation at Carrington, as he bids to recover from the injury he suffered during January’s exciting 3-2 win at Arsenal.
We focused on his graft in the gym last week, but Patrick was also occupied with off-pitch matters.
Our Danish international is a keen music fan and therefore simply had to be in attendance at the MOBO Awards, as they took place in Manchester for the first time.
Catching up with Patrick before the MOBOs
We put a series of quickfire questions to Patrick Chinazaekpere Dorgu, before he presented an award at the MOBOs...
Dorgu headed to the city’s Co-Op Live arena last Thursday and he even presented an award, appearing alongside Manchester City Women goalkeeper Khiara Keating to give the prize for Best Media Personality to the YouTuber Niko Omilana.
The MOBOs honour achievement in music of black origin and Olivia Dean, Raye and Central Cee were among this year’s notable winners.
Our women’s team also had a presence at the ceremony, as Simi Awujo, Gabby George, Melvine Malard, Jayde Riviere and Phallon Tullis-Joyce were in attendance.
We had an invite to get ready for the night with Patrick, seeing him get suited and booted before heading down to the venue, but not before getting his thoughts on the current music scene along the way…
