In his embargoed press conference, Erik ten Hag revealed that Antony will play on the right once his transfer to Manchester United is completed.

The boss confirmed to reporters that the Brazilian will be coming in to compete for a position down the right-hand side of the attack.

Ten Hag is keen to spark competition for places to help the players push each other, and Antony's imminent move, although not yet finalised, will help to do just that.

"It's good in the first place that there is competition," he explained in the pre-Leicester press conference, after replying to a question asking if Antony would play on the right wing by saying: "If it happens, yes."

"That is, I think, very natural. In a top club, this situation has to be there to push players to the highest levels.

Antony is likely to be direct competition for the likes of Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Anthony Elanga.

"I'm sure they're happy with that [competition] as well," Ten Hag added.

With a big season ahead both domestically and in Europe, having many high-level players to call upon is a welcome decision for the manager to make.

"We have the opportunity to choose and I'm lucky that we have that situation, that we created that situation, so well done, I would say," he smiled.
