Confirmed: The kit United will wear at Burnley

Manchester United will sport this season’s white adidas away kit in Wednesday’s Premier League game at Burnley.

To avoid clashing with the home side’s predominantly claret jerseys, the Reds will wear the popular white shirt – featuring a lilac pattern inspired by the snowflake graphic on our iconic 1990-92 away top – along with purple shorts and white socks.

It will be a first outing of 2026 for the kit, which we have worn previously this season in the wins at Liverpool and Crystal Palace, and most recently in the narrow defeat away to Aston Villa just before Christmas.

While the outfield players will be in white, our goalkeeper will wear the yellow strip that was last sported in a Premier League fixture by Senne Lammens, at Palace in November.

The white away kit is available to buy now at United Store, with offers on as part of the Winter Sale.

United’s men have donned a variety of colours when making the trip to Burnley’s East Lancashire home in the Premier League years, but white has been the most frequent across our nine appearances there.

It was the choice for the first time in 2014, a goalless draw that Angel Di Maria made his debut in, and has since been sported for more fruitful visits – a 2-0 win in 2017 and a 1-0 victory on our last outing there in 2023, when a blazing Bruno Fernandes volley was the difference.

The Reds were also triumphant while wearing a white-and-black striped number in 2021, and we’ve even had a white goalkeeper’s shirt at Turf Moor, as Ben Foster wore the unusual colour for a shot-stopper’s jersey on our maiden Premier League visit, early in the 2009/10 season.

Our outfielders gave a competitive debut to a black away kit with a v-shaped blue stripe on that occasion, a 1-0 loss and United’s only defeat at the ground in the top-flight’s modern era.

A look at Foster's white kit, which was the same design as the black one worn by the outfielders.

Anthony Martial scored the only goal as United won there in grey eight years ago this month, while it was pink shirts for the following season as Romelu Lukaku bagged a brace in a 2-0 triumph.

Martial was on the scoresheet again – alongside Marcus Rashford – as we had success by the same scoreline while sporting a savannah-toned strip in 2019/20, before blue was the colour for a 1-1 draw two terms later.
