Which United players have been called up for international duty?

Monday 05 October 2020 09:00

As domestic action takes a back seat for the next fortnight, a number of Reds will be representing their country in both friendly and competitive action.

In all, a total of 14 players from Manchester United, including new signing Alex Telles, have been included in the latest senior international squads, with matches being played from 7 to 14 October.

The trio of Harry Maguire, Dean Henderson and Marcus Rashford have all received call-ups for England and could come up against fellow Reds Daniel James and Dylan Levitt - currently on loan at Charlton - as Wales face the Three Lions in a friendly at Wembley. England then host Belgium and Denmark in the Nations League, while Wales travel to Ireland and Bulgaria in the same competition.

Portuguese full-back Diogo Dalot has followed Andreas Pereira in making a temporary move to Italy.

New signing Alex Telles joins up with Brazil for their World Cup-qualifying matches against Bolivia and Peru, while Paul Pogba returns to the France squad after missing out last time through illness and is joined by Anthony Martial for a friendly against Ukraine and Nations League encounters with Bruno Fernandes’s Portugal and Croatia.

Bruno could also come up against both David De Gea and Victor Lindelof during the break, after they were called up for Spain and Sweden respectively.

For Scott McTominay and Scotland all of their matches have something riding on them as they play Israel in the qualifying play-off semi-final for next year’s Euros, as well as Slovakia and Czech Republic in a pair of Nations League matches.

Elsewhere Donny van de Beek has been selected to represent the Netherlands and Eric Bailly has been named to go away with the Ivory Coast squad.

A number of our players have also been called up for their country's age groups, with Brandon Williams having been added to Aidy Boothroyd's selection for England Under-21s' upcoming matches against Andorra and Turkey.
