Women's internationals: Who's been called up?
Manchester United Women's squad has dispersed for a series of fixtures taking place across the globe during the first international break of 2026.
While Hinata Miyazawa prepares to go for glory with Japan at the AFC Women's Asian Cup, both Simi Awujo and Phallon Tullis-Joyce will be hoping to return to Manchester with a gold medal from the SheBelieves Cup, taking place in North America.
In Europe, the start of the 2027 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign is the focus for 12 Reds across seven different nations, while there are also a healthy number of United players getting set to represent their countries at youth level, as February turns to March.

FIFA WORLD CUP QUALIFIERS
The road to the summer 2027 tournament in Brazil starts here for the European nations, who will kick off their qualifying campaigns during this break.
Maya Le Tissier and Jess Park are in the England squad eyeing a successful start to what they hope will be a run to a second successive final in the global competition, after suffering a narrow defeat to Spain three years ago. The Lionesses, reigning European champions, will play away to Ukraine before hosting Iceland in Nottingham, at the start of March.
It's Republic of Ireland away and Poland at home for France, who have selected United's Melvine Malard to be part of their squad, while Dominique Janssen could play in a reverse of those fixtures for the Netherlands.
Lea Schuller's Germany are due to take on Slovenia before meeting Norway, when a clash of club team-mates could take place, with Lisa Naalsund and Elisabeth Terland in the Scandinavians' party that will travel to Austria first.
It is an encouraging sign to see Fridolina Rolfo named in the Sweden group, alongside team-mates Hanna Lundkvist and Julia Zigiotti, after a knock has kept her out of our last four games. Rolfo could build some minutes up before an important spell in United's season, when the Swedes visit Italy and Serbia.
Meanwhile, there's also multiple Reds in the Wales squad, with Mared Griffiths - on loan at Sunderland - and Safia Middleton-Patel flying the flag. Our young duo will hope to feature as Wales encounter Czechia and Montenegro in their first two World Cup qualifiers.
AFC WOMEN'S ASIAN CUP
Over in Australia, Miyazawa will be representing Japan at the 21st edition of the AFC Women's Asian Cup, which has taken place once every four years in recent history.
In the FIFA world standings, Hinata's country are ranked the highest among the sides participating, making them one of the favourites to lift the title, which would be their third in four editions.
Japan's campaign starts with games against Chinese Taipei, India and Vietnam in Group C, which is due to conclude on 10 March, before the quarter-finals from 13 to 15 March and the semi-finals on 17 and 18 March.
The final is scheduled to be held at Sydney's Stadium Australia on Saturday 21 March, the same day as United host Everton in the Barclays Women's Super League. Before then, the Reds have the Subway Women's League Cup final against Chelsea on 15 March and a WSL trip to West Ham United, three days later.
SHE BELIEVES CUP
Miyazawa is not the only United player competing for a trophy in this break of course, with a pair of Reds also set to be involved at the 11th SheBelieves Cup in North America.
The annual invitational tournament, hosted by the United States and won by Miyazawa's Japan last year, sees Argentina, Canada and Colombia join USA in the 2026 line-up.
The round-robin format will comprise of three matchdays, one in each of Tennessee, Ohio and New Jersey, with the prize going to the team with the most points at the end of the competition.
Tullis-Joyce will be hoping to help USA recapture the silverware they won five times in a row before the last edition, but they will have to overcome old rivals Canada if they are to do so, with the squad managed by former United boss Casey Stoney including Awujo. The teams are due to meet in Ohio on matchday two.
YOUTH-TEAM CALL-UPS
Along with the United representation in the senior squads, there is also a strong contingent of Reds preparing to gain international experience at youth level over the next couple of weeks.
Jess Simpson, on loan at Southampton, has been picked by England's Under-23s, while recent United debutants Jess Anderson and Layla Drury are in the Young Lionesses' Under-20s squad, alongside Lucy Newell who is currently playing her football at Crystal Palace.
Meanwhile, January signing Ellen Wangerheim is with Sweden's Under-23s.
‘The boots are back on!’
ArticleElla Toone has posted a positive update on her injury, after enjoying United’s win at Everton.
