Who impressed Hojlund most?
Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund says he was instantly impressed by Bruno Fernandes in training.
Inside United, the official club magazine, asked the Denmark international about his early days at Carrington and whether any one individual stood out for him, as he made the move from Serie A side Atalanta in the summer.
The 20-year-old had no hesitation in naming the captain as the player who immediately caught the eye with his work on the training ground.
When posed the question, Rasmus replied: “I think you can see Bruno [Fernandes], his touch. He is very elegant on the pitch and, especially, also in training. I mean he’s just, yeah, quality.”
Fernandes has been working hard in the engine room all season, and will be looking to return refreshed at the weekend, following a break abroad with his family during our winter break.
Hojlund, who will be striving to score his first Emirates FA Cup goal in Sunday's trip to Newport County, was also asked to describe the general mood around Carrington, six months into his United career.
“I would like to say positive but we try every day to develop and ensure we keep getting better,” he said.
