Who was your Man of the Match?

Manchester United beat Arsenal 3-2 in a thrilling Premier League encounter at Old Trafford.

Cristiano Ronaldo was an obvious contender for the prize, after he scored twice to take his career total to 801 goals, converting a Marcus Rashford cross and then burying a penalty, awarded after VAR intervention.

It came after an even first half when Emile Smith Rowe was awarded a goal when firing into an empty net with David De Gea grounded after being caught by Fred. Bruno Fernandes levelled before the break by sweeping in Fred's pass.

A whopping 60 per cent of fans on ManUtd.com and the Official App decided Ronaldo's efforts merited the prize, as he left the pitch to a rapturous reception in front of the Stretford End when he was substituted in the closing stages.

It is difficult to argue with that verdict but credit must also go to Fred, who grew into the game and ended up assisting Fernandes's strike and earning the penalty after a foul by Martin Odegaard. The midfielder continued his impressive recent form with an all-action display.

Newly crowned Player of the Month David De Gea made a stunning save to deny Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, although the Gunners striker was maybe marginally offside and the assistant-referee did flag. He had earlier thwarted Gabriel Magalhaes.

The Portugal international now has 12 goals since returning to the club and this is his fifth Man-of-the-Match award. He was also star performer against Newcastle United, Atalanta (twice) and Tottenham.
