Who won Man of the Match against Luton?
Manchester United earned three points from our last game before the November international break, beating Luton Town 1-0.
The boss made two changes from the side he put out at FC Copenhagen a few days ago, with Victor Lindelof coming in for the recently injured Jonny Evans and Aaron Wan-Bissaka making way for Sergio Reguilon.
A goal from Sweden international Lindelof the separated the two sides in the end, after a pretty dominant display from the Reds.
With our opponents forced to advance further up the pitch following the breakthrough, our defensive unit proved equal to the task of keeping Luton quiet for the rest of the game.
Harry Maguire produced another resolute display and Bruno Fernandes was heavily involved. Despite this, it was Lindelof who you voted for as your Man of the Match, with a resounding 52 per cent of the vote.
It was just before the hour mark when Lindelof stepped up to repay the manager's faith in him, latching onto a loose ball in the box following a corner and thundering a powerful shot on target from close range, leaving Hatters' goalkeeper Thomas Kaminski with no chance of keeping it out.
Even before his all-important goal, the 29-year-old had been contributing all afternoon with searching passes to the flanks, looking to find a way around the deep-lying Luton side.
It was a well-rounded display for the Swede, as he looked assured in the backline when the Hatters inevitably had to mount increased pressure on the Reds after going one behind.
Runner-up in the poll was Lindelof's defensive partner, Maguire, picking up 16 per cent of the vote.
It comes as little surprise, as the England international was tasked with a similar objective to his fellow defender, namely staying alert for potential counter-attacks and contributing going forward when possible.
Maguire managed this with his signature aggressive style, not allowing the Hatters too long to dwell on the ball and starting numerous attacks.
The accolade arrives as Lindelof's first Man of the Match award since last season, when he was commended for another fine display in the FA Cup against Brighton & Hove Albion, when he converted the winning penalty in the shootout.
The defender last clinched the award in a Premier League fixture against Chelsea at Old Trafford in October 2020.
Lindelof now has another well-deserved award to his name, as voted for by you, the fans. Congratulations Victor!
