Who was United's Man of the Match v Real Sociedad?
Manchester United will take a creditable draw into the second leg of our Europa League round-of-16 tie with Real Sociedad at Old Trafford next week.
The Reds will feel disappointed not to have won the match in Spain, having dominated for long spells and created numerous chances.
Joshua Zirkzee’s first European goal for the Reds was cancelled out by a Mikel Oyarzabal penalty, awarded after a review by the Video Assistant Referee as Bruno Fernandes was harshly adjudged to have handled in the area.
Despite the 1-1 scoreline in San Sebastian, there were plenty of strong individual performances from those in red and we asked you - the supporters - to vote for your Man of the Match...
Report: Real Sociedad 1 United 1
ArticleUnited have to settle for a first-leg draw, despite a largely dominant display in Spain.
Our goalscorer Zirkzee received a majority 44 per cent of the final vote after putting the Reds ahead in the 57th minute with a low strike from the edge of the box for his sixth United goal.
The 23-year-old had 45 touches of the ball and was a threat for much of the game, going close to scoring in the first half too.
Comfortably in second place was our captain Fernandes, who had 19 per cent of the vote after another combative display.
Andre Onana and Matthijs de Ligt also garnered a respectable eight per cent of the vote each after contributing to a solid showing in defence.
Congratulations, Josh, and thank you to everyone who voted.
