Manchester United's 4-2 victory over Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup at Old Trafford threw up several strong options for our Man-of-the-Match award.

Fans were quick to vote in the United App after the third-round action, which has clinched a pre-Christmas clash at the Theatre of Dreams with Burnley in the last 16.

The goals came from Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford, Bruno Fernandes and Scott McTominay, who also struck the bar with a fierce effort.

Alejandro Garnacho may not have got on the scoresheet but he dazzled in his substitute appearance and registered two assists, for the strikes by Fernandes and McTominay.

The teenager produced a positive performance down the left flank and illuminated the ground with his energy and confidence.

It means he has won the award in three of the last five United matches, after also scooping the prize for his showings against Sheriff Tiraspol and Real Sociedad.

Garnacho registered 42 per cent of the vote to finish clear of Fernandes in second spot (27%) and Rashford in third (18%).

Homegrown hero Rashford celebrated his place in the England World Cup squad with the Carabao Man-of-the-Match trophy for his efforts, as the Reds now focus on Fulham this Sunday, our last game before the big event in Qatar.
