Manchester United progressed to the fourth round of the Emirates FA Cup with an excellent team performance against Wigan Athletic.

A fine first-half effort from Diogo Dalot was added to by Bruno Fernandes's second-half penalty, as the Reds sealed a 2-0 victory at the DW Stadium.

Plenty of players shone in the professional display from Erik ten Hag's team, but only one could be crowned Man of the Match.

Which United player was our Man of the Match against Wigan?

Kobbie Mainoo earned a whopping 46 per cent of the votes cast by our fans, after another cultured performance in the United midfield.

Not only did the Academy graduate control play in the middle of the park, but he also contributed defensively.

In the second half, with the score at 1-0, Wigan broke away on the counter-attack. Kobbie recovered superbly to make a brilliant tackle, helping preserve United's lead before Fernandes went and sealed the victory with a spot-kick late on.

Our poll runner-up, with 16 per cent, was Diogo Dalot. He opened the scoring in the first half with a sumptuous curled finish from the left-hand side.

Diogo was efficient in both defence and attack and was a constant threat from left-back.

His compatriot Fernandes gleaned 15 per cent of the votes, as did Alejandro Garnacho, who was characteristically energetic in his contribution to the victory.

Garnacho was dynamic throughout the clash and struck the crossbar with a left-footed shot in the first half.

Bruno was similarly impactful, as he both earned and scored the penalty that finally put the result beyond our hosts in the closing stages.

But it was Mainoo who stood out among his team-mates, winning Man of the Match for the second time this season.

Congratulations, Kobbie!
