Why Forest game is a rare occurrence

Friday 31 October 2025 09:00

The fixture list has thrown up a rare occurrence for Manchester United this weekend.

Ruben Amorim's side are striving to make it four successive wins in the Premier League, when travelling to the East Midlands to face Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

The 15:00 GMT kick-off means a traditional slot for the Reds and this has not been the case of late, when having a game on the road.

The clash with Sean Dyche's side will not be shown live on television in the UK but you can follow it across MUTV, the United App and ManUtd.com.

Opta have pointed out that this is the first time we are kicking off at 3pm on a Saturday, in an away Premier League match, since a 1-0 victory against Bournemouth in May 2023.

That win at the Vitality Stadium was secured with an acrobatic strike by Casemiro on the south coast.

United finished October with a 100 per cent record, following wins against Sunderland, Liverpool and Brighton & Hove Albion.

Hopefully, we can take this form into next month - and the signs are positive.

The Reds are unbeaten in our last seven November fixtures, winning five of these, with our last defeat in the penultimate month of the year coming back in 2022, a 3-1 loss at Aston Villa.

Despite an own goal by Jacob Ramsey, we came unstuck in Unai Emery's first game in charge at Villa Park but that was the last time we finished pointless from a league game in November.
