Erik ten Hag has explained that Jadon Sancho missed Manchester United’s pre-season friendly with Atletico Madrid due to sickness.
“Overnight he got sick, so he is not available,” the Reds boss told MUTV, pre-match.

Sancho has enjoyed a terrific run of form in pre-season so far, lethally scoring in victories over Liverpool and Crystal Palace. He also netted a cracking volley in the draw with Aston Villa last time out.

Sancho did travel with the squad to Norway, and will be hoping to feature in Sunday’s final pre-season game against Rayo Vallecano at Old Trafford (31 July).
