When could Dalot return?

Diogo Dalot is in the frame to return to the matchday squad when Manchester United host Crystal Palace on Saturday (15:00 GMT kick-off).

The Portugal international resumed training with the main group at Carrington this week and is in line for a recall, as we meet the Eagles on home turf, following the 1-1 draw at Selhurst Park last month.

Manager Erik ten Hag, speaking to club media, said he was planning on being able to call upon the right-back, if he came through the session on Friday unscathed.

The boss is asked whether Marcel Sabitzer will be in the squad for the Palace game on Saturday.

"I think Diogo is doing quite well," the boss told us. "In the last couple of days, he has been back in the team training and [if] his training today goes well, he can also return to the squad tomorrow [Saturday]."

When asked for any more updates to his squad for the Eagles' visit, he replied: "Marcel Sabitzer. We signed him. I think he is ready to play so, tomorrow, he is in the squad."

Dalot picked up an injury at the World Cup finals and was also forced out of the Carabao Cup quarter-final victory over Charlton Athletic, with Aaron Wan-Bissaka taking his place in the 34th minute.

Wan-Bissaka has since performed extremely well, and was nominated for our January Player of the Month award, which was ultimately won by Marcus Rashford.

Palace boss Patrick Vieira, meanwhile, has ruled Wilfried Zaha out of a return to his former club. "Wilfried is still on the treatment table," he told the official club website. "Obviously, his injury will take him a couple of weeks, so we have to do without him.

“Nathan Ferguson and James McArthur are progressing really well. They trained with the first team for the last couple of weeks, so they are in a really good position, but it is too short for them to be involved in the first team at the minute. There is a protocol in place that is important for us to follow but they are doing well.

“Joachim Andersen is slowly progressing, but he is not available for the game tomorrow.”

However, new boys Naouirou Ahamada and Albert Sambi Lokonga both look set to make their debuts.

Look out for the interview with full on Erik on Saturday morning, on the United App and ManUtd.com.
