Will Fish has completed a permanent move from Manchester United to Championship side Cardiff City.

Fish, 21, became the 240th graduate from our Academy when he made his senior debut in 2020/2021, as a late substitute in the final game of the season away to Wolves, having joined the club as a youngster.

The defender went out on loan to Stockport County later that year, and subsequently had further spells with Scottish side Hibernian in the 2022/23 and 2023/24 campaigns.

Our guide keeps track of the comings and goings at United during the transfer window.

Will made an impact in Edinburgh, impressing on loan at Hibs and getting a couple of goals too, adapting superbly to senior football.

The local lad was a regular in our pre-season preparations in 2023 and 2024, and also played for the Reds in the USA this summer.

A player who has successfully come through our youth system, he will always be welcome back at the club through our Alumni programme.

We wish you all the best with your next steps, Will!
