Competition: Win a Garnacho shirt
We're celebrating Alejandro Garnacho's Man-of-the-Match display against West Ham United on Wednesday evening, by giving away a 2022/23 home shirt printed with his name to one of our lucky supporters.
The teenager was in fine form throughout the 90 minutes in M16, and vitally stepped up to net our second goal in the closing stages of the 3-1 win over the Hammers, which secured our berth in the Emirates FA Cup quarter-finals.
Our no.49's direct style of play, neat footwork and blistering pace down the left-hand side allowed United to spring forward in numbers, none more so than after we had found ourselves a goal down thanks to Said Benrahma's opener.
But Erik ten Hag's men responded valiantly at the Theatre of Dreams, with Garnacho's goal sandwiched between Nayef Aguerd's own-goal and Fred's late third.
The Argentinian forward has now found the net four times for our senior side this season - with that being his maiden first-team strike at Old Trafford.
He continues to go from strength-to-strength during his first full term as a professional and Garnacho received wholesale praise from the boss in his post-match press conference, as he revealed the key advice he gave to the teenager shortly before kick-off.
“I see it, I see today another step,” Ten Hag told reporters after the game.
“I said to him before the game, 'It’s getting time you have an impact when you come on, but now you have to have an impact as a starter.' I think he’s capable of it. So that is the next step he has to make.”
