Wout Weghorst has issued a pledge to Manchester United fans after completing his loan move from Burnley.

The Netherlands striker, who impressed for his country at the World Cup finals, had been starring for Besiktas in Turkey before getting the opportunity to work under Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford.

Clearly excited to be representing the Reds, Weghorst cannot wait to get started and build a rapport with the supporters.

“I feel privileged to be joining Manchester United." he told us. "I’ve played against the club in the past and it’s a fantastic feeling to now have the chance to pull on the famous red shirt. I’ve seen United’s progress under Erik ten Hag this season and can’t wait to start playing my part in pushing the team towards its aims.

''Whatever happens in the next few months, I can promise to give everything to the club for as long as I am here.

''I thank everyone who has played a part in getting me to this stage, and now I am looking forward to meeting my new team-mates and getting involved straight away.''

Weghorst was determined to grasp this opportunity and will look to make a real impact for United, as we continue to play in four competitions - the Premier League, Europa League, Emirates FA Cup and Carabao Cup.

The forward will have to wait to make his Reds bow however, as he will not be involved in Saturday's Premier League match against Manchester City, as confirmed by Erik ten Hag during the first part of his pre-match press conference.
