Swedish defender Anna Sandberg joined Manchester United in August 2024 from BK Hacken, the first time she had moved outside of her home country in her career.
The left-back suffered a delayed start to life in Manchester through injury, but made her debut in November against Leicester City in the WSL. Her attacking flair surfaced in cup wins against Newcastle United and West Bromwich Albion, and she set up two of the seven goals we scored against the latter on the way to a third successive final. Sandberg also has a handful of caps for Sweden’s senior side, having been the youngest member of her country’s 2023 World Cup squad, where they finished third.
