Starting out in Derby County's youth system, the midfielder arrived at United's Academy in 2023.
A full Gibraltar international, he made his senior debut for the nation against Lithuania in March 2024 and scored his first goal in a 2-2 draw with Leichtenstein later that year. In terms of his United output, he scored eight times in 19 games for the all-conquering Under-18s in 2023/24. He also made 16 appearances for the Under-21s as he was a regular across the two teams. Scanlon was decisive for the U18s once again in 2024/25, scoring 14 goals in as many league games, and three in five FA Youth Cup appearances, as well as making eight league appearances for the U21s, for whom he'll be a regular in 2025/26.
