Canada international Simi Awujo joined Manchester United in August 2024, signing a contract until the end of the 2026/27 season.
The promising young midfielder began her footballing journey with AFC Lightning in Peachtree City at the age of seven and later went on to turn out for the University of Southern California’s USC Trojans, from where she earned her move to the Reds.
The Atlanta-born star originally represented the USA at youth level before switching allegiances to Canada, where she picked up a bronze CONCACAF Championship medal with their Under-20 side.
Remarkably, she made her senior international debut for Canada at just 18 years old and has since represented her nation at the 2023 World Cup and the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, reaching the quarter-finals of the latter competition before bowing out to Germany on penalties.
The midfielder markets herself as a physical player who likes to defend and win headers, but will also look to dribble and take people on in attacking phases.
