Bruno Fernandes took an unusual path to the top when compared to other Portuguese talents who have served Manchester United.
A four-time Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year winner, Fernandes has missed just a handful of games since joining from Sporting Club in January 2020. The Portugal international has registered double figures for goals and assists in each of his full seasons and became only the fourth overseas player to score 100 times for United. He’s led the Reds out in Europa League, Emirates FA Cup and Carabao Cup finals and continues to be a hugely influential figure in the dressing room.
He broke the long-standing Premier League assists record in 2025/26 and was named the Football Writers' Player of the Year, as well as winning our own club award for an unprecedented fifth time.
