Canada international Simi Awujo joined Manchester United in August 2024, signing a contract until the end of the 2026/27 season.
Her footballing journey began with AFC Lightning in Peachtree City at the age of seven and continued at the University of Southern California’s USC Trojans, from where she earned her move to the Reds. The Atlanta-born star originally represented the USA at youth level before switching allegiances to Canada, where she picked up a bronze CONCACAF Championship medal with their Under-20 side, and made her full senior debut aged just 18. Simi made her United debut in September 2024 and opportunities for the young midfielder grew throughout 2025/26. She was an instrumental part of both of our World Sevens appearances, and was named the tournament's breakout star at the inaugural edition.
