Andreas: Winning today was crucial
Andreas Pereira told MUTV he was happy to mark his 50th United appearance with a goal...
Q: Well done Andreas. That seemed fun to play in… Yeah, it was nice. A good game to play because we got the goals and created a lot of chances as well. It was good. Q: Your 50th appearance for the club, and you marked it with a goal. You must be happy? Yes, I’m very happy. Hopefully there are many more to come. Q: Is this a part of the game you want to develop - scoring goals? Yeah, I think it’s one of my qualities this season that has been a bit difficult. I’ve been close a lot of times, but I’m happy with the goal today and most importantly the win. Q: Definitely your goal? Not an own goal? Definitely my goal! Q: The second goal came at a good time and you seemed to be in control at half-time. But I suppose you never know at 2-0 because if they get the next goal the game changes… Yeah, you have to always be on red alert at 2-0. Then we got the goal against us and we got it back to 3-1. After that we played more relaxed and controlled the game. Q: To make it 3-1, it was Marcus and Anthony linking up. Some of their link-up player was terrific wasn’t it? They know each other very well and I’m pleased they linked up to score the goal. Q: Dan James playing on his 22nd birthday. He must be a nightmare to defend against? Yeah, he’s very fast. He played every well and I’d like to wish him a happy birthday. Q: There’s now a two-week international break. How important was it to go into that with a victory? It’s massive. Now we can rest up and everyone is happy and focused for the next game. Q: How are you feeling confidence-wise now? We’re up to seventh in the table. Is this a platform to build on with no more international breaks after this? Now we can look forward, put our heads down, really work hard and continue this form.
