As you can see in our interview, David was delighted to break a longstanding club record on Thursday...

What did you make of the performance tonight?

"I'm really happy, with three massive points for us and now we're really close to the fourth position. We are showing a lot of good things, like we did today and in the last three or four games. It's great to see the team playing like this, creating chances, scoring great goals and not conceding so we are really happy."

Villa made quite a good start but as soon as we got the first goal, was that it really?

"I think so. In the first 30 minutes, they pressed really high so they made some difficult moments for us and they hit the post as well. But probably after we scored the first goal, they opened more, we created more chances and we scored a very important goal, the second goal before half-time. I think that goal killed Aston Villa and then we controlled the game very well. We didn't concede many chances and it was a really good performance."

You would have had a great view, from behind Mason, looking at that shot. That was unsaveable...

"Yeah, both goals, the one from Paul and from Mason. I think Pepe had some people in front and the finish was very good. They were great goals and I hope they can keep this level of goals. The kid [Mason] is playing really well and the whole team as well."

To have that front three, and Bruno and Paul in behind with Nemanja holding, it seems to be working so well, that front five or six...

"Yes, they are working really well together, creating many, many chances and that's good for the team. It's not just them, I think the guys from the bench as well today. All the team is playing very well, we are focused and I think we are in a very good way."

For you personally, you've gone past Peter Schmeichel with your 399th appearance - that's the most for a non-British or Irish player. What does that mean to you?

"Sorry to Schmeichel! It's great. That means I've been here a long time and I've been playing really, really well to the top level so I'm really, really proud and I'm happy to play for this club for that many games. Hopefully I have another 400 games coming! So I'm really really happy."

Just finally, the games keep coming and we have another one on Monday, but it must give you so much confidence going into these games with this long unbeaten run?

"Of course we are very confident now but we haven't done anything yet. We have some important games coming now so we need to be very, very focused and keep the level that we showed today and in the last four games. We're in a good mood, a good way, so yes, we keep looking forward to the next game."
