Dalot: ‘Bruno’s going to be a legend’
Dalot talks about the impact his compatriot Bruno Fernandes can have at United, with a short visit from the man himself!
I bet you love having him here? Yeah, unbelievable. He's a top guy, top player and he's going to be a legend here. Did you speak to him about coming to Old Trafford? Yeah, I spoke with him in the summer. Everybody knew that we were going through talks in the summer and I spoke with him in the summer, he wanted to come here. He didn't come but now finally he is here and I was very happy for him, very happy to have a Portuguese guy in the team and it's very good for him as well. How good is he? Unbelievable. He can get better, of course. He's going to learn a lot from this club but I think he's a massive player to have in this team and I think he's going to be a very good player for this club. You said a legend a second ago... Yeah, he's going to be. No doubt about that, yeah. He looks like a leader as well? We can't hear what he's saying, but on the pitch he's always talking and pointing to people... Yeah, I think he's... he was the captain in Sporting. Of course, he is an experienced player as well, 25 years old. Played in Italy, played in Portugal. He knows what he's doing so I think he's going to be very good for us. So were you messaging him saying come along? Yeah I was saying stop this thing and just come. Because there was loads of rumours that maybe he would join and maybe he wouldn't. Because he was playing loads of games for Sporting and people were like maybe it's not going to happen... Everybody thought this is going to be the last game, oh he's crying after the game so this is going to be the last game... When did you know? Two or three days before the announcement, yeah. So very close? Yeah. It was very quick as well, the decision was very quick. He didn't know in one day and then the day after he told me OK I think it's going to be. The day after, I don't think so. Then yes it's going to be. So have you been showing him around Manchester? Yeah, the first days I helped him. He was in my home, instead of in the hotel staying alone, he was in my home living. And now he has his family, found a house as well. So he's settling in and I think he's settling in perfectly. Does he like the weather? Yeah, I think he's a bit sick about the changing of temperature but everyone gets to that!
