Manchester United is one of fifteen BWSL and BWSL2 clubs taking part in the Women's Super League Football Fan Choice and Alcohol in the Bowl Trial for 2025/26.

Supporters attending Manchester United Women's BWSL and BWSL Cup fixtures at Leigh Sports Village and Old Trafford can choose to drink alcohol or non-alcoholic alternatives in sight of the pitch or in the stadium bowl.

Following a successful pilot with four BWSL2 clubs last season, the WSL Football Fan Choice and Alcohol in the Bowl Trial has been expanded for the 2025/26 campaign.

As part of our commitment to improving, optimising and enhancing the fan experience on matchday, we have sought and obtained approvals from Safety Advisory Groups and fan representative bodies, to allow supporters attending Manchester United Women's Team matches the option to drink alcohol from their seats at Leigh Sports Village and Old Trafford.

Supporter feedback will be actively encouraged throughout the trial, and we will be sharing further communications, including post-match surveys and fan working groups, throughout the season.

Please note, this trial does not include Adobe Women’s FA Cup fixtures, UEFA Champions League fixtures or friendly matches.

Frequently Asked Questions

No, the WSL Football Fan Choice and Alcohol in the Bowl Trial applies to Barclays Women's Super League Fixtures and Barclays Women's Super League Cup fixtures only.

The trial does not include Adobe Women’s FA Cup fixtures, UEFA Champions League fixtures or friendly matches.

No. Only alcohol purchased from within the stadium is permitted.

Our matchday stewards are always on hand to assist if you wish to report a concern or share feedback on matchday.

In addition, supporters can request to move seats by contacting tickets@manutd.co.uk (please note, due to demand and reserved seating we cannot guarantee this will be an alcohol-free area).

All supporters attending BWSL fixtures can purchase alcoholic items from the concourse kiosks and can choose to drink alcohol or non-alcohol alternatives in sight of the pitch or at their seats.

We will be encouraging supporters to share feedback throughout the season via post-match surveys, matchday check-ins and fan representatives.

The Fan Choice and Alcohol in the Bowl Trial has been introduced to enhance the matchday experience for all fans.

Supporters are reminded to respect and adhere to the stadium code of conduct and to drink responsibly.

Drunk and disorderly behaviour is not tolerated at Leigh Sports Village or Old Trafford.

Our matchday stewards are on hand to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all fans and can assist with immediate concerns. All feedback is recorded.

Both Leigh Sports Village and Old Trafford operate a strict Challenge 25 policy which means supporters will be required to show proof of age if they look under 25 years old.

The Fan Choice Trial has been introduced to enhance the matchday experience for all supporters and fan sentiment and feedback will be closely monitored throughout the season.
