How else would you like to start your weekend, Reds? Erik ten Hag's side left it late to begin the new campaign but really, we wouldn't have it any other way, as Joshua Zirkzee scored on his debut to win it. United had dominated proceedings in the first half and should have been ahead if not for the fine form of Fulham goalkeeper Bernd Leno. Twice the German goalkeeper denied Bruno Fernandes, while Casemiro also squandered two chances, one with his head and one with his foot. As the second half began, Ten Hag's side had to fend off pressure from the visitors, with Fulham going close on a couple of occasions and were denied if not for the heroics of Lisandro Martinez and Harry Maguire. But with just three minutes remaining, Alejandro Garnacho's wonderful cross was prodded home expertly by Zirkzee, winning the game for United and sending the Stretford End into utter delirium. Not a bad way to start the season, eh?
