Manchester United youngster Marc Jurado was named in a Premier League matchday squad for the first time as the Reds visited Nottingham Forest on Sunday afternoon.
The young right-back's previous involvement with the first team was during the training trip to his native Spain in December, when he featured in the friendly defeats to Cadiz and then Real Betis by coming on as a substitute for Aaron Wan-Bissaka in both games.
Last season, he played in every round of our successful FA Youth Cup campaign and was one of four overseas players to start as Travis Binnion's side defeated Forest 3-1 in the final. The others were Czech goalkeeper Radek Vitek, Norwegian midfielder Isak Hansen-Aaronen and Argentinian forward Alejandro Garnacho.
Garnacho, who has since become a fans' favourite in the first team, bagged a brace on that memorable night at Old Trafford.
Jurado moved to Manchester in 2020, from Barcelona’s Under-16 team, and went straight into our Under-18 set-up.
In October last year, Marc made his international debut for Spain's Under-19s against Germany in a 1-0 victory. His second international appearance in that age group was in a 1-0 win over Italy.
The young Spaniard will now hope to follow FA Youth Cup-winning team-mates Garnacho, Kobbie Mainoo and Charlie McNeill by making his official first-team debut for the Reds in a competitive fixture.
Congratulations on your call-up, Marc.
