Bruno shares classy response to Man of the Match win

Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes has picked out two Reds that he would have given our official Man-of-the-Match award to following the 1-0 victory over Aston Villa.

Fernandes was the recipient of Sunday’s prize, tallying a majority 45 per cent of the fan vote in the United App, after his match-winning performance at Old Trafford, in which he scored the game’s only goal.

Despite his decisive contribution, our captain on the afternoon believes that two of his United team-mates had even more of a case for the recognition, after their contributions to the successful M16 outing.

Commenting on our Instagram post confirming that he had won the accolade, Fernandes posted: “@casemiro @victorlindelof it should be for both of you this one 🙌🏼👏🏼.”

Our no.8 was not alone in his thinking, with Lindelof and Casemiro the other two Reds to receive a substantial amount of the vote from supporters in our app.

The Sweden captain, who continued his recent form by playing a key role in United’s latest Premier League shutout on home turf, finished second with 32 per cent, while Casemiro, who Erik ten Hag believes was back to his best yesterday, came third (14 per cent).
