Club captain Bruno Fernandes has spoken passionately about his family’s favourite Manchester United chants, during an in-depth discussion with Old Trafford season-ticket holders.
Part one of the epic conversation will be released at 08:00 BST on Wednesday across all of our platforms, followed by part two at the same time on Thursday.
In the preview clip below, Bruno is asked about the power of fan chants and whether he has any favourites, leading to a detailed admission about his family.
“I have always said I feel honoured by that,”says Bruno, referencing his own chant. “My first game, I had a song straightaway and I couldn't hear it because I was so much into the game, emotions were everywhere. My brother was in the Stretford End with you guys.
“At the end of the game, he asked 'Have you heard your song?' and I asked: 'What song, what are you talking about? I heard many things but I can't remember!’
“Then he sent me the video because, obviously, as an older brother, he was very proud of seeing me for the first time at Old Trafford and knowing that I had a song straightaway from the first game was something to be proud of.
“It is something that I think, for everybody who has a song, they really like it, they really enjoy it. Even when you are in your lowest moments and then, with just a tackle, with just a run back, with just getting a corner, that cheers you up and gets you going even more.
“Knowing sometimes there will be criticism, some boos, some moments where the fans will be upset, but you have to remember also all of the times they are cheering you up, singing your song, singing songs for the club.
“I have some songs from the club that I like. I put them on in the car with my kids. Whenever they come to the games and they hear one... I think the one we have, 'Take Me Home [Country Roads]', we don't have the actual song [chant] on Spotify and my son is a little bit upset with that.
“But the one they listen to the most is 'Glory, Glory, Man United' because they went to Wembley, they felt that song so loudly in that moment, they have seen us lifting the trophies there. I think that is probably the favourite one for them and for me too.”
