Bryan Mbeumo has been allocated the number 19 shirt at Manchester United.
The forward completed his move from fellow Premier League side Brentford on Monday and will now join up with his new United team-mates ahead of Tour 2025, presented by Snapdragon, in the USA.
Mbeumo arrives at United fresh from a 20-goal Premier League season with the south-west Londoners, and Reds fans everywhere are eagerly anticipating watching his goal-creating prowess at Old Trafford.
The Cameroon international follows a prestigious list of names by donning the no.19 shirt, with both stellar defenders and forwards included among its previous occupants.
Raphael Varane was the most recent wearer of it, from his August 2021 arrival until May 2024, when he played his final game for United, lifting the Emirates FA Cup at Wembley, after our memorable 2-1 victory over Manchester City.
Prior to Varane, Amad wore no.19 for one season, following in the footsteps of Marcus Rashford, who is one of several Academy graduate strikers to take the shirt. James Wilson and Danny Welbeck had come before.
As well as Amad, Rashford and Welbeck, Mbeumo succeeds another fine goalscorer in taking the no.19 shirt, with Treble-winner Dwight Yorke netting 66 goals in his four-year United career.
Perhaps most significantly, Mbeumo gets the same squad slot as the only other Cameroonian outfielder to represent the club, Eric Djemba-Djemba.
Bryan had previously worn 19 at both Brentford and Troyes, as well regularly donning it for his nation. The first time we’ll see him in United colours on the pitch will likely be in the upcoming Premier League Summer Series.
For US-based supporters, tickets are still available for our three games, while Reds outside the States can watch the games live on MUTV.
