Casemiro firmly believes Manchester United are on the right path to success, as he reiterates his happiness with life at Old Trafford.
The much-decorated midfielder started the opening game of our Premier League season, partnering captain Bruno Fernandes in the engine room against Arsenal, but was unable to help prevent an unfortunate 1-0 loss to the north Londoners.
A player whose qualities and aptitude have been praised by head coach Ruben Amorim, the 33-year-old has ignored any speculation over his future in the transfer gossip columns over the summer and is purely focused on helping the Reds get back to the top.
Despite the defeat on Sunday, he was in a positive mood when speaking afterwards in the mixed zone.
“Manchester United always has to think about the victory,”
he declared. “I’m not going to say that losing is okay, we have to win.
”Manchester United always has to win. I think we have shown good moments, and we have played much better today, but we have to look for the victory. We are on the right path now.
“We have a good connection and that’s the path we are taking.
“It’s complicated,”
he replied, when asked what has been lacking at United. “Everyone can have an opinion. In the last few years, we have reached several finals, such as the Europa League [last season] and the thing missing is to win.
”Few clubs win these cups and we need to continue thinking about winning these trophies and to continue improving.“
In response to a question about proving people wrong by continuing to play in the Premier League, the Brazil international stressed how content he is and has no time for any speculation.
”I am very happy here,“ he enthused. ”My family is happy here. I enjoy every day at Carrington and at Old Trafford. If people talk from the outside, that’s fine, it doesn’t interest me. I just want to focus on winning.“
