Stoney wins Manager of the Month award

Casey Stoney has won the League Managers Association (LMA) Women's Championship Manager of the Month award for April 2019.

This is the third time that the Manchester United Women boss has received this accolade, with Stoney also claiming November 2018 and February 2019’s prizes.

It has been a stellar month for the Reds, who have gained promotion to the Women’s Super League and clinched the FA Women’s Championship title.
It was an April to remember for Casey and her team.

'MY STAFF ARE MY ROCK'

“This is the third time now and I say we’ve won it, because it is we,“ Casey affirmed upon receiving the award. ”It’s a collective effort from my staff. I credit them when I win things like this, because they are my rock.

“They make sure that I can do the job that I can do and I’m supported by them every day. So, this one is for them.”

There were goals galore in United’s history-making month. Back-to-back home games at Leigh Sports Village saw the Reds beat Aston Villa Ladies 5-0, which wrapped up promotion, before a resounding 7-0 victory against Crystal Palace Ladies, which saw us clinch the league title.

We ended April with our final away day of the campaign, which resulted in a 5-0 victory against Millwall Lionesses.
