Clinton completes transfer to Man City

Manchester United can confirm that midfielder Grace Clinton has completed a permanent transfer to Manchester City.

The 22-year-old joined United from Everton in 2022, after graduating from the Merseyside club’s Academy.

Clinton went on to make 28 appearances for our first team, scoring nine goals.
Clinton made all 28 of her United appearances last season.
After becoming a Red, Grace enjoyed successful loan spells at Bristol City and Tottenham Hotspur, being named the PFA Women’s Young Player of the Year for her performances at Spurs in 2023/24.

Her form in the capital was rewarded with a maiden outing for England’s senior team in February 2024. She now has 16 caps for the Lionesses and three goals, to go with the winners’ medal she received from being a member of this summer’s European Championship-winning squad.

Clinton was selected to the tournament in Switzerland on the back of an impressive 2024/25 campaign back at United, in which she established herself in Marc Skinner’s side.

The midfielder marked her debut for the club with an Old Trafford goal against West Ham on the season’s opening weekend and went on to tally up all 28 of her appearances and nine strikes across the term, as the Reds secured a top-three finish in the Women's Super League and reached a third consecutive FA Cup final.
Everyone at United would like to thank Grace for her service and wish her luck for the future.
