Manchester United overcame West Ham 1-0 at Old Trafford, thanks to an own goal by Craig Dawson.
The centre-back headed Bruno Fernandes's corner into his own net in the second half and it proved enough to take the Reds back into second spot in the table.
Mason Greenwood twice hit the woodwork, once from a brilliant fingertip save by Lukasz Fabianski, and the visiting keeper also did well to deny Fernandes.
Marcus Rashford also had a couple of headed opportunities, while Jarrod Bowen probably had the clearest opening for the Hammers, but was flagged offside in any case, as the Reds were deserving victors.
