Reds link up with Houston Texans

Manchester United players linked up with stars from the Houston Texans on Thursday, after our friendly with Real Madrid at the NRG Stadium.

The Reds stayed in Houston after the game and used the venue as a training base the following morning, before flying back to San Diego.

Erik ten Hag’s side met players and staff from the NFL side – who have played at the stadium since being admitted to the league in 2002 – at the end of the session.

The likes of Mason Mount, Marcus Rashford and Luke Shaw practised their throwing and kicking skills, alongside Texans punter Cameron Johnston and kicker Ka’imi Fairbairn.

The two footballing outfits swapped shirts as they both prepare for next season, with United five games into an eight-match summer campaign and the Texans having just returned to camp ahead of the start of the 2023 term in September.

Ten Hag and his players also met team chair and CEO Cal McNair and wife Hannah, who is the vice-president of the Houston Texans Foundation.

Our trip to the biggest city in Texas involved defeat to the Spanish giants, with goals from Jude Bellingham and Joselu edging the contest.

United have one game remaining of Tour 2023, as we take on Borussia Dortmund at Las Vegas’s Allegiant Stadium on Monday (kick-off 02:00 BST).
