United's winning run speaks volumes

Manchester United continue to shine under head coach Michael Carrick, racking up a third successive win.

Brazilians Casemiro and Matheus Cunha handed us a two-goal lead, only for a Raul Jimenez penalty and Kevin's spectacular strike to seemingly earn Fulham a point. Bruno Fernandes had other ideas, with the skipper posting his second assist of the afternoon by setting up Benjamin Sesko's superbly taken winner.

The run of nine points out of nine matches the best recorded in previous boss Ruben Amorim's spell in charge, which came across 47 Premier League games, and has propelled the Reds up the table.

We have moved back up to fourth, ahead of Chelsea and Liverpool, who both recorded victories on Saturday.

Manchester United 3 Fulham 2

With Aston Villa surprisingly going down to a 1-0 home loss to 10-man Brentford, the gap on third spot has now closed to five points.

United have scored eight goals in three games since Carrick took charge and responded to late setbacks against Arsenal and Fulham by quickly recovering to score again.

As Opta have pointed out, our tally of 41 points from 24 games is now only one fewer than the total at the end of the entire 2024/25 season.

With Tottenham Hotspur coming to Old Trafford next Saturday, we will be looking to maintain this momentum.

It is the first of two matches against his former clubs for Carrick, with West Ham United to follow afterwards, in midweek.
