Onana voted September's Player of the Month

Andre Onana has been voted Manchester United's Player of the Month for September.

The 28-year-old kept two clean sheets across the month and won one Man of the Match accolade against Crystal Palace during our 0-0 draw at Selhurst Park.

Onana then produced a superb double save to deny Eddie Nketiah and Ismaila Sarr, earning plaudits from far and wide.

Erik ten Hag's side perhaps should have won in Croydon, but Andre's heroics certainly played a part in keeping a clean sheet all the more.

The Cameroon international also produced another shutout in our 3-0 success at Southampton, including a crucial penalty save from Saints striker Cameron Archer.

With the game at 0-0, Andre denied Archer from the spot before the Reds sprung into life, scoring three times at St. Mary's.

Despite our most recent loss against Tottenham, at Old Trafford, Onana also denied Timo Werner twice when called upon in one-on-one action.
Garnering 47 per cent of the vote, it is the first time our no.24 has won the award this season.

He follows Amad who won the award in August, with the Reds campaign only still in its relative infancy thus far.

GOAL OF THE MONTH WINNER

Elsewhere, our Goal of the Month prize has also been declared, with Christian Eriksen winning the accolade for the month of September.

Eriksen scored three times during the month, firstly netting two goals in our Carabao Cup thumping against Barnsley.

The Dane then followed up his brace with a sweet strike against FC Twente during our 1-1 draw with the Dutch outfit in M16.

Eriksen earned 36 per cent of the vote for his delicious strike that nestled in the top corner to open the scoring.

Unfortunate to not win United the game, it is still worth celebrating, with Sam Lammers smashing home a leveller just after the hour mark.

Congratulations to both Andre and Christian on their achievements for the month of September!
