Marcus Rashford was pleased with Manchester United’s commanding 4-1 victory over Real Betis in the Europa League this evening.
The Reds were keen to hit back after Sunday’s defeat to Liverpool, with Rashford telling BT Sport: ''It’s a step in the right direction. We have to build on this now to gain momentum.
''We can’t put too much emphasis on Sunday because it is gone, we can’t change it. We have to look forward now to the next games.''
From the first whistle to the final, Old Trafford rallied behind United, much to the delight of our in-form forward.
''We’re all as one when we come here on matchdays,'' he told MUTV at full-time.
''We need them [the fans], we need their support and it is always good when they support players in moments that aren’t ideal.''
Our no.8 responded with a standout performance, echoed by Rashford: ''Bruno was excellent again today. Good goal and [his] overall performance [was] very good, everyone is pleased for him.''
Our frontman was equally complimentary to Wout Weghorst, who netted his first goal in front at Old Trafford late on, adding: ''He does a tremendous job for the team, we all know that, but it’s the goals that are going to keep him happy and keep him working hard.
''I’m really pleased for him today and hopefully he gets some more.''
''It’s football,'' he told club media. ''Anything can happen.
''We have to go there with the right mentality and get the job done; we’ve put ourselves in a good position in the tie, but it’s not finished yet.''
