England to take on North Macedonia at Old Trafford

Manchester United is delighted to have been selected by the Football Association to host England's UEFA EURO 2024 qualifier against North Macedonia on Monday 19 June 2023.

Following today’s announcement, Collette Roche, Manchester United's Chief Operating Officer, said:
“We are proud to welcome England men’s international football back to Old Trafford. There is a great tradition of support for the men’s and women’s England teams here and we look forward hosting another important fixture next summer.
“In the previous 17 England men’s international matches we have witnessed some memorable moments including the unforgettable FIFA World Cup qualifier against Greece in October 2001 when David Beckham's stunning free-kick at the Stretford End sealed qualification for the 2002 finals.

“And, of course, more history was made this summer when a capacity crowd at Old Trafford witnessed the opening match of England’s Lionesses' glorious run to being crowned champions at the 2022 UEFA European Women’s Championship.”
The North Macedonia fixture will be the 18th England men’s international to be played at the Theatre of Dreams since 1926 and the first in more than 16 years – with the last of those being against Spain in February 2007.

In addition to international football, Old Trafford staged Rugby League's Super League Grand Final in September and, on Saturday 19 November 2022, the iconic ground will host the men’s and women’s Rugby League World Cup finals.

After the Rugby League World Cup final, the next fixture at Old Trafford will see Manchester United Women take on Aston Villa Women – the third major women’s match to be held at the Theatre of Dreams in 2022.

Five England Lionesses – Mary Earps, Nikita Parris, Alessia Russo, Ella Toone and Katie Zelem – are among those who could feature in that historic fixture in December, along with a host of other internationals, rising stars and new faces in Marc Skinner’s side.
