The countdown is on to your Old Trafford debut as a Junior Member, and we cannot wait to welcome you to the Theatre of Dreams!
Whether that be having a pre-game kickabout in the shadows of our historic stadium, seeing your favourite United players, or just making sure you don’t miss a moment of the action – we’ve got you covered with an exclusive guide, just for our Junior Members. Be sure to check it out below…
WHAT TIME DO THE PLAYERS ARRIVE?
This can vary from game to game, but Ruben Amorim likes his team to get to the stadium nice and early to get settled prior to every home match. The players can arrive up to four hours before kick-off, and you are more than welcome to greet them on their way in, as they enter via the players’ entrance in the south-west corner of the ground.
WHAT IS THERE TO SEE OUTSIDE THE STADIUM?
Arrived early to see the players, or just looking for something to do before turnstiles open? There is plenty to see around the exterior of our historic home, that tells the story of what makes us United. Not least, the Munich tunnel on the south side of the stadium, which commemorates the 1958 Munich Air Disaster with a compelling exhibition.
If history is your thing, why not try to find every statue around the stadium? There are four to be exact, recognising some of the most heroic players and staff our club has ever seen – Sir Matt Busby, Sir Alex Ferguson, Jimmy Murphy and the United Trinity – can you tick them all off?
Get set for kick-off by making sure you are kitted out to cheer on the Reds, with a trip to the Megastore, located at the foot of the East Stand.
A read of the matchday programme, on sale around the ground, will make sure you are in the know on both teams, while it also features posters to take home, plus quizzes to test your knowledge.
If it is your football skills you want to put to the test, join us on the Apollo AstroTurf pitch, outside the Sir Alex Ferguson Stand, where the Manchester United Foundation run skills, drills and games from three hours before kick-off.
WHERE CAN I GRAB A BITE TO EAT?
If all of that has made you hungry, there is plenty of places to get a variety of food and drink, both inside and outside the stadium, before, during and after the match.
Both teams will emerge from the iconic Old Trafford tunnel – between the Stretford End and the Sir Bobby Charlton Stand – roughly five minutes before kick-off, but you can watch them going through their final preparations for the match prior to then. Turnstiles open two hours before every fixture, giving you plenty of time to get to your seat if you would like to watch Bruno Fernandes, Kobbie Mainoo and co warm up from around 45 minutes prior to the first kick. Be sure to cheer loud when they come running out!
WHEN DO THE PLAYERS LEAVE THE STADIUM?
After the final whistle, the team will head back to the home dressing room before exiting the ground from the players’ entrance. Departure timings can vary, but you are welcome to stick around to catch your favourite Reds leaving the stadium, should you wish to do so.
