Training update from Carrington

As the countdown begins in earnest to Sunday's Premier League opener against Arsenal, Manchester United have started preparations for the Old Trafford clash.

Last Saturday's penalty shootout win over Fiorentina, following a 1-1 draw, was our final warm-up game, with the success clinching the Snapdragon Cup in front of our own fans.

On Sunday, it was back to Carrington as Ruben Amorim contemplates his line-up for the opening day.

There was the sight of our latest signing Benjamin Sesko enjoying his first session since sealing a move from Bundesliga side RB Leipzig.

The Slovenia international was paraded before the start of the Fiorentina fixture, along with fellow new boys Matheus Cunha, Diego Leon and Bryan Mbeumo, and should be available to make his debut against the Gunners, if selected.

Andre Onana and Joshua Zirkzee were part of the main group, which was a welcome development after their recent absence from action.

Neither player featured across the pre-season campaign, although they did travel to the United States and worked on their rehabilitation, in a bid to be fit as soon as possible.

Several Academy youngsters were also involved, with the Under-21s and Under-18s both playing this week, against Tamworth and Everton respectively.

Look out for the exciting release of our new third kit on Tuesday morning!
