Watch McTominay's strike from All the Angles

Here at Manchester United, we tend to give brilliant, or matchwinning, goals our full ‘All the Angles’ treatment.

This season, there have been 360-degree views of Paul Pogba’s points-settling howitzer at Fulham, Edinson Cavani’s late Carabao Cup clincher versus Everton, Marcus Rashford’s electric counter-attacking strike against Brighton and much, much more.

However, when nine goals are scored in a match – as happened against Southampton on Tuesday – the task of highlighting one particular effort becomes a difficult one.

So, who better to ask than the fans? We did just that in a live poll yesterday, and we can now announce a clear winner, which can be seen in all its glory below…

All the Angles: McTominay v Southamptonvideo

Yes, Scott McTominay’s drive, which swiftly followed Anthony Martial’s roof-of-the-net strike, won out in our vote, and it’s no surprise why.

It was our no.39’s fifth goal of the season – matching his total from 2019/20 already – and shared some striking similarities with his opener against Leeds United in another convincing victory at Old Trafford, six weeks ago.

Against the Yorkshire outfit, Scott latched on to a Bruno Fernandes pass to sidefoot home from 20 yards out, with just a minute on the clock.

While his finish against the Saints - coming on to a loose clearance, again from well outside the box - didn't quite feature as much swerve, it still bamboozled visiting goalkeeper Alex McCarthy.

Scott is developing into a scorer of fine goals, as anyone who was at Old Trafford for last March's Manchester derby will attest!
