Team news for Forest v United

Ruben Amorim has given an update on two of his central defenders, before Saturday's trip to Nottingham Forest.

Lisandro Martinez has returned to first-team training this week, after almost nine months on the sidelines with a knee injury.

While the sight of the Argentina international at Carrington is a welcome one, Amorim clarified that he is not in contention for the matchday squad at The City Ground.

The boss also revealed that Harry Maguire is still a doubt for this fixture, having also missed the 4-2 win over Brighton & Hove Albion due to injury.

“He [Martinez] wants to go to this one, he is not going to this one, he is going to take time,” said Amorim, at his pre-match press conference.

“He started training with us but we had to change some things in the exercise for him, so slowly he is going to get better.

“He is really good, he is really good, and he gives us that edge in every training session and that is also really good for us.

“The rest of the guys, we have one more day [of training], I don't know about Harry Maguire. I think the rest is fit.”

Leny Yoro replaced Maguire at the back for the clash with the Seagulls, while Benjamin Sesko came into the side for Mason Mount.

Mount was fit enough to be named as a substitute, despite picking up a knock in the build-up to the game, but he was not called upon as the Reds withstood Brighton's fightback to clinch a third straight Premier League win.
