What is happening at United this week?

Manchester United will start 2023 with an action-packed week of football, as three of our teams are in action.

Erik ten Hag's Reds have two matches to contend with across the seven days, facing Bournemouth in the Premier League and Everton in the FA Cup. 

Away in Malta preparing for the restart of the Women's Super League, our women's team will take on local side Birkirkara FC on Friday, while our U21s will also be in action on the same evening in the Premier League 2. 

In addition to these fixtures, there are a host of birthdays and anniversaries to mark too, so here's the lowdown of what the next week brings for United...

MONDAY

We’re kicking off the week by looking ahead to Tuesday’s Premier League outing against Bournemouth, as we welcome the south coast club to Old Trafford.

TUESDAY

Ahead of United's Premier League clash with Bournemouth, find out what Erik said in his exclusive matchday interview with club media, which will be released prior to the evening kick-off.

The Reds host Bournemouth at the Theatre of Dreams, with kick-off scheduled for 20:00 GMT. There will also be radio commentary for the full 90 minutes.

THURSDAY

On Thursday, we’ll be remembering the late Bill Foulkes, who was a stalwart at the back for United, on his birthday. 

This date also marks the anniversary of Nemanja Vidic joining the club, with the Serbian signing for Sir Alex Ferguson’s Reds back in 2006.

FRIDAY

It’s an action packed Friday for the Reds, with three of our teams in action. 

The women’s team play first, kicking off at 18:00 GMT against Birkirkara FC in Malta, as we prepare for the restart of the Women’s Super League season. Tickets for the game are available to buy here, while updates and images from that match will be available across our official platforms.

Our Under-21s also return to action at the end of the week, with kick-off for the young Reds set for 19:00 GMT at Motspur Park. You can follow updates from the Premier League 2 match on ManUtd.com and in the United App.

United Women's 2022 Review: Part 2

Ten Hag's Reds will be the last of the three teams to kick-off, where they’ll be welcoming Everton to Old Trafford for an 20:00 GMT kick-off in the third round of the FA Cup.

This fixture will be broadcasted on ITV 1 in the UK, but you can also tune in to MUTV for pre-match build-up and post-match reaction. Our live show starts at 18:55 GMT.

Sunday 8 January marks a 11 years since United legend Paul Scholes played his first match for the Reds, after performing a u-turn on his decision to retire. Scholesy came back into the fold for our FA Cup clash against our local rivals Manchester City.
