International call-ups for several Reds

15 members of the Manchester United Women's team have been selected to represent their nations at senior level during the upcoming international break.

FRANCE

New Reds centre-back Aissatou Tounkara has been named in the France squad for September’s internationals against Estonia and Greece.

Tounkara and co have already secured top spot in their World Cup qualifying group but can still finish the campaign with a perfect record.

Les Bleues head to Estonia on 2 September (16:00 BST) before rounding off the term on home soil against Greece four days later (19:45 BST).

SPAIN

Ona Batlle and summer arrival Lucia Garcia have been selected for the Spain squad ahead of their qualifiers against Hungary and Ukraine.

The fixtures, which will both take place on home soil at the Pabellon de la Ciudad del Futbol 1, are scheduled for 20:00 BST kick-offs on Friday 2 September and Tuesday 6 September respectively.

Jorge Vilda's side currently top Group B in the UEFA section of qualification and have already guaranteed their spot in the 2023 tournament, but they will be looking for positive results in the upcoming international break to maintain their 100 per cent record in the campaign, having won all six of their matches without conceding so far.

WALES

Gemma Grainger’s squad for the upcoming qualifiers against Greece and Slovenia features two members of Marc Skinner’s Reds, and two of our loanees.

Hayley Ladd, Safia Middleton-Patel, Carrie Jones and Chloe Williams have all been named to represent Wales, and will join their training camp on Sunday 28 August.

First up for Grainger’s team is a trip to the Panthessaliko Stadio in Volos on 2 September to face Greece. Just three points separate the sides in Group I, giving this fixture huge significance for both nations.

Following this clash, Wales host Slovenia at the Cardiff City Stadium on 6 September, concluding their international break.
